SOUNDS OF THE SEASON - Sunday, December 10 - 3:30pm

A wonderful yearly tradition continues with The Lafayette Concert Band’s annual December Concert. Put the holiday preparations aside to experience the magic of music of as the LCB presents “SOUNDS OF THE SEASON” on Sunday, December 10 at 3:30 p.m. at the Lafayette High School Auditorium on West Congress Street. Marking his 30th year as conductor of the Lafayette Concert Band Gerald Guilbeaux leads the ensemble through its paces for this celebratory concert.

SOUNDS OF THE SEASON” features yuletide favorites such as “Sleigh Ride” and “God Rest Ye, Gentlemen,” as well as the new exciting work celebrating Hanukkah, “The Eighth Candle”by Steven Reineke. Sharing the podium with Guilbeaux will be Associate Conductor, Scotty Walker and Assistant Conductor, Billy Hochkeppel. Long time friend of the Lafayette Concert Band, Santa Claus will make a special appearance with the band near the end of the program.  

A part of  the Lafayette musical community since 1982, the LCB is comprised of 90 talented woodwind, brass and percussion instrumentalists. Members come together on Tuesday evenings to rehearse from late August through June. They travel from more than fifteen communities surrounding Lafayette where they pursue careers as varied as accounting, education, engineering, computer science, homemaking, banking, medicine, law and retirement. The Lafayette Concert Band has been awarded the Sudler Silver Scroll. This award is administered by the John Philip Sousa Foundation and is North America’s most prestigious award for Community Concert Bands. 

General admission tickets may be purchased at the door the day of the concert for $10 and children under 12 will be admitted free of charge.
